Frequently Asked Questions
Exfoliating the skin ideally should be part of your weekly skincare routine, if you have dry skin you will want to exfoliate up to three times a week where as a sensitive and an oilier skin will want to exfoliate only once a week. Our Active Repair Radiance Polisher can be added to our Active Repair Nourishing Cleansing Balm for the ultimate skin cleansing, conditioning, nurturing exfoliating treatment. The blend of cranberry, walnut and rosehip powders gently buff away dead skin cells, leaving the skin texture smooth and soft and the complexion glowing. Exfoliation is key for the dead skin cells to be removed to allow new skin cells to come to the surface and increase cell turnover. All skincare that is applied after exfoliation will work harder for you as the dead skin cells have been removed.

Exfoliation will make your skin feel softer, smoother and visibly appear clearer and brighter. If you do not exfoliate, the skin can appear dull, grey and sallow and feel rough and uneven in texture. Exfoliating weekly will increase cell turnover and remove dead skin cells. Skin cells are constantly being produced and migrate to the surface of the skin, as we age the skin holds onto the dead skin cells causing the skin to lack vibrancy and clarity. The key with exfoliation is to keep it up regularly. Add Active Repair Radiance Polisher to Active Repair Nourishing Cleansing Balm at least once per week to create an instant exfoliator.
When exfoliating an oily skin its best to exfoliate only once a week, daily exfoliation for an oily skin can cause more breakouts especially when you use a physical exfoliator (an exfoliator with grains) as granular exfoliators stimulate the skin oils glands. It is important to exfoliate if you have an oily skin or a skin that is prone to breakouts as you do not want dead skin cells blocking the pores and causing the oil to get stuck. When pores are blocked bacteria then causes blackheads, spots and blemishes. Be careful to not over exfoliate if you have an oily, combination skin.
Winter can be really damaging to the skin if it is not cared for, the cold air outside zaps moisture from the skin and the things that bring comfort to us like coming home to a lovely warm and cosy house can also add stress to the skin.
